SOUNDS LIKE OH-HI

Map3

Ojai is a quant little town situated in a valley below the Topatopa mountains about 80 miles north of Los Angeles and 15 miles in from the coast. Known for being a long-time haven for hippies and artists getting away from LA, Ojai has good eats, good peeps and good vibes. We know travelling for a wedding is stressful and we don't want that for you, so we've tried to compile some info here! And if you still have questions, just ask us!

HOTELS & LODGING

Unfortunately no hotel room blocks are available in Ojai and due to the limited options, things book up quickly. If you want to stay in Ojai please consider booking ahead to make sure you have a place to stay, don't procrastinate! And most hotels in Ojai require a two night stay. Fortunately there are more affordable options in Ventura which is an easy 20 minute drive to Ojai from the coast. Below we've collected a bunch of options in both in Ojai & Ventura to fit your budget. On the day of the ceremony we plan to arrange shuttles in downtown Ojai and Ventura to and from our venue, Las Palmas de Ojai, so those who wish to fully imbibe may.

Ventura Lodging

DRIVING & FLYING

Ojai is about 1 1/2 Hours north of Los Angeles...on a good day. And if you're coming from outside of California, good chance you'll be flying in to Los Angeles. You can usually count on traffic being a bit garbage, so plan for more on your driving portion, especially if you're trying to come up the day of the wedding. Trust us on this one. Traffic is bad more often than it is good.

Airports
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - Pretty much every major airline flies into here and its also a good place to pick up a car rental if you choose. It's also a good option if you're thinking of spending some time in LA.
  • Hollywood Burbank Airport aka Bob Hope (BUR) - This option is actually slightly closer to Ojai, although it's likely a wash. Major airlines fly directly into here and it's often cheaper than LAX, so highly reccommend cost comparing.
  • Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) - A smaller regional airport just up the coast from Ojai. Good option if you want to minimize driving and get as close as you possibly can.
Driving
  • We'd reccomend renting a car from the airport you fly into for the easiest option. There should be plentiful options from most major rental companies.
  • Turo is another great rental car option, often cheaper with options to pick up and drop-off at your airport. We've rented from Turo quite a few time, including the vintage BMW Nick used to propose to Corie. So if you've always wanted to cruise the coast in an exotic with the top down, they have a car for that.
  • Wherever you're coming from, just punch it into Google or Apple maps and it should guide you without issue. If you have time and want the scenic route, head to Pacific Coast Highway.
  • If you live in LA, you know the drill: Take the 10 to the 405 to the 101 to the 33 which will dump you onto Ojai Ave.
Bus
There are shuttle servies which will pick up at LAX and dropoff at Ventura (which is approx. 20 minutes from Ojai). You will want to pre-book a seat based on their schedule which works best with your arrival time.
